Control algorithms in C, real-time audio processing, adaptive filtering

Who we are

Purilian is a Florence based deep-tech company that designs, builds and installs active noise cancellation (ANC) systems for industry: stacks, ducts, ventilation plants and machinery in large production facilities across Europe and the United States. Algorithms, electronics and mechanics are developed in-house, from the acoustic model to the installation in the field.

The role

Our control algorithms are the heart of every system we ship. We are looking for the person who will own them: real-time audio processing running on systems that are installed and operative at international industrial clients, with a growing product family to evolve. You will see the whole loop: algorithm, implementation, field measurement, iteration.

What you will work on

• Real-time control algorithms in C: adaptive filtering, system identification, latency-critical audio paths.
• Porting and optimizing signal processing on our embedded platforms.
• Test campaigns on real systems: from the lab bench to industrial installations.
• Analysis tooling in Python: spectra, coherence, convergence, performance metrics.
• Technical growth of the junior profiles in the team.

What we look for

• A degree in engineering, physics, computer science or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience with real-time audio or signal processing in C.
• Solid grasp of DSP fundamentals: FIR/IIR, FFT, adaptive filters, fixed vs floating point.
• Comfort with measurement equipment and experimental work.
• Working technical English; Italian is welcome but not required to start.

Nice to have

• Experience with active noise control or acoustics.
• Embedded development experience (bare metal or RTOS).
• Python for data analysis.
